Michael Nelson is Fulmer Professor of Political Science at Rhodes College, in Memphis, Tennessee. A former editor of the Washington Monthly, he has published twenty-two books, including The American Presidency: Origins and Development, 1776-2007 and Presidents, Politics, and Policy. More than fifty of his magazine and journal articles have been reprinted in anthologies of political science, history, sports, and English composition.
